Poster 27: 1926 Fire Guts Downtown
This fire ruined the Pollard Department store and many smaller concerns including Middlesex Women’s Club, Masonic Temple, and three “clairvoyants,” Ruth Willey, John Maguire, and Rose Depage. In a twist of fate, this photo was taken from the third floor of Bon Marche, Pollard’s unscathed competitor.
