Thanks to speculation over where it was taken, it quickly became one of our most popular social media posts last year.

There were a lot of theories. With windows resembling a church to the right, and likely a mill in the distance, Moore Street became the most likely crowd-sourced contender. 

However it was another street in the same Sacred Heart neighborhood: Andrews (which actually intersects with Moore). Our internet sleuths were on the right track. The building in the distance was indeed the mills, but the building to the right wasn’t quite a church. Instead, the old Sacred Heart School (now demolished)

Michael Lally, Director of Business Operations for the Lowell Cemetery, shares he knew exactly where this was.

In fact, it turns out that Annie’s photography studio was just a few blocks away.

Case closed, mystery solved.
