To the President and Principal,
Lowell Textile School.
Gentlemen:
The manuscript presented here with, has been in the hands of the American School of Correspondence for over two years. It has not been published yet, but they have a copy of it.
When Mr. Barr was in the east, I talked this matter over with him, and asked him to return my manuscript for your inspection, he has done so, and now I lay it before your notice, hoping that you will allow me to finish it for them, they owe me seventy five dollars for this work and will not pay me until I promise to complete this book. The Cotton and Wool Reporter is publishing this same matter supplied them by one of our graduates.
Hoping to receive your favorable reply at an early date.
The money will come in very use under my present circumstances.
Yours most respectfully,
Fenwick Umpleby.
